Surrounded by magnificent fells for walking, climbing or mountain biking this is an excellent holiday location to explore the Lake District. The village of Grasmere, 5 miles, hosts Dove Cottage where romantic poet William Wordsworth wrote much of his famous poetry, now a museum and art gallery. Visit attractions such as the Brockhole Visitor Centre, Beatrix Potter Exhibition and many NT properties are all within a short drive. Shops 400 yards and pub 100 yards.
